hydrangea-ed

[Thrifted navy crewneck sweater, J. Crew Peter Pan collar shirt, DIY dip-bleached denim, c/o J. Shoes suede/leather desert boots, c/o Coach Weekender Bag in Marine, c/o Coach navy/red striped wrap, Warby Parker 'Everett' sunglasses, Urban Outfitters infinity scarf]

My compulsion for wearing full out monochromatic outfits is getting strong as the days go it seems. I don't know if it's a personal reaction to color-blocking, which is great- don't get me wrong, but wearing all shades of ___ (fill in color here) is what's really pulling me in lately.

As I was heading out for Atlanta for the weekend, I suited up in my blue uniform and grabbed my new favorite Coach bag for it's first true-to-name weekend trip. It handled all the press very well, letting me overfill it without looking sloppy. Once Kristen and I spotted these blue hydrangeas, it was kind of a no-brained as to where we should shoot my blues.

What I Saw Today-ed

After months of back and forth, I finally got a chance to sit down with Bushwick Illustrator, Richard Haines, of What I Saw Today to get sketched. I've never sat for a drawing before, but it was far more organic than I would have imagined.

Check out some of the other drawings, here.

Thank you Richard- I'm honored!

mr. rogers gets moto-ed

[Hugo Boss moto jacket, J. Crew cardigan, c/o Chaps button-up (seen here), Levi's 510 black denim, Ben Sherman oxfords, ASOS double plaited belt, Timberland socks]

I was raised in the South and I will always have a preppy undertone to my dressing hence, the cardigan is my go-to staple for layering and my 'Mister Rogers' look. Today I mixed it up a little sporting thick exposed socks and this fur collar-ed moto jacket to give my otherwise preppy outfit a dash of street smarts. PS. Notice my green obsession has not faded, not one bit.

black & blue-d

[Hugo Boss moto jacket, Vintage button-up, Gap blue pants, Cole Haan boots, c/o Coach Mens blue Weekender Bag HERE]

Lately, I feel like I have only been wearing monochromatic outfits. If I'm wearing green pants, I fine myself reaching for a green shirt. These blue pants are no exception. I have been constantly pairing them with blue hues and black details.

I have been dreaming about this bag since I saw it at the Men's Spring Preview last fall. So when Coach sent it to me, I immediately knew that it's 'premiere' (trademarked by Tanya Brown) had to be with these blue pants of the same tone.

Monochormatic outfits - classic? or fashion goggled much?

My affinity for green seems to continue to grow. Today, I wore it with yellow, yellow and more yellow.

floral-ed

[Vintage sweater, Vintage floral short-sleeve button-up from Oona's, Levi's denim, Cole Haan boots, Vintage collar bar]

Maybe it's because I was listening to The Cranberries with my sister, Courtney, in '93, but something about floral brings me right back to '90s grunge. I scored this shirt at my Boston favorite, Oona's. I have been wearing it non-stop; under sweaters, button-ed to the neck, barely buttoned, you name it. Today I wore it with collar bar laid over my sweater. Thoughts?
