revers-ed

[Alternative Apparel cardigan (worn backwards), Peach t-shirt, Levi's 510 skinnies, Nike sneakers, Friendship bracelet, MOCA-Chicago grey bracelet]

I've always loved this cardigan, but find it difficult to wear. So, today I tried it backwards- thoughts?

pink polo-ed

[Thirfted polo, Banana Republic chino pants made shorts, Nike sneakers, Rugby belt, Timex / J. Crew watch, Neon Bracelets from the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Warby Parker 'Everett' sunglasses]

Before I share some shots of my MDW trip to Chicago, I wanted to share these metal, colored bracelets I picked up at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago--which was incredible by the way. That's an arm party game changer.

Posting last weekends off duty outfit for a weekend of roof top loving and Bushwick explorations, as I return from my Memorial Day weekend in Chicago. Had the best times with amazing friends- can't wait to post pictures!

green wall-ed

[Vintage button-up, Vintage Levi denim shorts, Cole Haan brown boots, J. Crew x Timex watch]

Getting so excited for my Memorial Day weekend trip- I leave for Chicago tomorrow!  The weather is looking great, so I got in the spirit early with some nearly white denim shorts and an easy breezy vintage button-up. Summer is close I can almost smell it. Now if this rain would just relax...

prada-ed

[Vintage printed button-up, Vintage pleated pants, Ben Sherman oxfords, ASOS double plaited belt, Brooklyn Flea sunglasses]

I bought this gem last year in Boston just in time for summer. It was right after the Prada Menswear Spring '12 collection- which showed incredibly loud printed button-ups, liberty printed pants, printed ascots, double breasted blazers and the most incredible cleats ever made.
This is my take on Prada S/S '12.

white pant-ed

[Thrifted short sleeved button-up, J. Crew white denim, Ben Sherman oxfords, Vintage belt, J. Crew x Timex watch]

Enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend in New York by spending all day yesterday at The Great Googa Mooga festival in Prospect Park. My friends and I ate, drank and laughed all day while we lounged on the grass spending hours people watching. I must say, I saw some great street style.

Today, I'm finally breaking out the white pants. Growing up in the South, the no white pants before Memorial Day was a serious rule. Now, I think white pants are practically year around wore smartly.

ascot-ed

[c/o Ceravelo 'Cherry Blossom' ascot, Zara short sleeve button-up, ASOS toffee chinos, Ben Sherman oxfords, Rugby seersucker belt]

Yesterday, I posted about my love of the ascot. So naturally, today I am sporting one. Inspired by Cary Grant, I took the more relaxed, casual use of the formal attire. Although casual and paired with a simple white button-up, I held a certain air of 'put-together-ness' all day cause of the rad neckwear. Like I was ready to swoon anyone socks off I needed to.

Now, on to the actual ascot. Everyone needs to check out San Fran based Ceravelo, immediately. The reason I am so in love with the brand is their unique business model. They use re-purposed, vintage fabrics to create these reversible as well as one-of-a-kind silk beauties. This doubles as a environmentally friendly, sustainable business. They come in patterns, polka dots, florals & stripes- and most reversible sides are solids for even more options. Newest obsession- definitely #FashionGoggled.

Obsess-ed: Ascots

As all things do, styles go in and out of fashion over the years. As a man interested in fashion, I hate seeing clothing options completely go out of style as menswear is already limited to few styles as is. The ascot is a perfect example; and, I am calling for a revival.
The impeccable Cary Grant frequently sported the ascot, as well as Marlon Brando. My favorite use is the bottom right, where Grant incorporates it into a casual look paired only with a striped long-sleeved t-shirt- very Parisian chic.

Above, modern men tackle the ascot look- aviators mandatory apparently.

back light-ed

[ASOS polka dot chambray shirt (last seen here), Urban Outfitters striped cardigan (last seen here), BLANKNYC waxed denim (last seen here), Cole Haan black boots, Warby Parker 'Everett', Nixon 'District' watch, ASOS neon wrap (last seen here)]

My affinity for printed anything is still growing strong as you can see in my button-up/cardigan combination. ASOS did it- I seriously want to wear this shirt everyday. (SPOLIER ALERT: I may or may not have semi-matching bottoms for the summer)
Chambray? Check. Polka dots? Check. Small collar? Check.

city slicker-ed

[Kenneth Cole shell, American Apparel printed t-shirt, Levi's black denim, Hunter green 'Bormio' boots (last seen here), Vintage belt, Iris Von Arnim scarf]

I haven't broken out this Kenneth Cole parka-like slicker in quite a few years as I was not too fond of the shape say five years ago. For some reason now, I'm very interested in the minimal aspects of this slicker.  I'm also clearly obsessed (here and here) with this bleached aesthetic- especially with this incredible printed scarf.
